Connect a control to the right NIM data source before configuring its user experience.
Grids, dropdowns, checkboxes, and radio buttons can use table-backed values. The source can be a filter, auditing query, or internal lookup table.

Choose a source that returns only the records the App needs. Include a readable field for users and a stable value for the App to store. If the source uses parameters, define how those values will be supplied before users depend on the control.

For a Dropdown, Checkbox, or Radio button:
- Select Table based in the item's properties.
- Open the Table tab at the top of the item configuration.
- Select the data source from the Table name dropdown.
- Return to the item's properties and select the Table display/value column:
- The display column is the text users see.
- The value column is the value the App stores and passes to later forms or actions.
Use static Values only when the list is intentionally fixed. A table-backed source is appropriate when NIM data should determine the available choices.

Open the App in Run mode and verify that the expected choices appear, the displayed text is meaningful, and the stored selection drives the expected follow-up behavior.
