  1. Go to Configuration → Apps.
  2. Select + Add.
  3. Enter a clear, task-oriented App name and select Create.

NIM opens the new App in the Designer, where you can add forms, items, properties, variables, and actions.

Name Apps for the task

Use a name that tells a dashboard user what they can accomplish, such as Request Shared Mailbox Access rather than a project or implementation name.

  1. In Configuration → Apps, find the App.
  2. Select its pencil icon.
  3. Update the name, notes, or tags.
  4. Select Save.

Use notes to record the App's owner, intended audience, integration dependencies, or support expectations. Tags make the App list easier to manage; they do not control end-user access.

Categories determine how Apps can be grouped by the Dashboard Navigation form item. You can set them from Properties or directly from the App list.

  1. Find the App in Configuration → Apps.
  2. Select its Categories field.
  3. Select one or more existing categories, or enter a new category name and select +.

Categories that are not assigned to at least one App do not appear in the category list.

  1. Find the App in Configuration → Apps.
  2. Select its edit button.
  3. Update the App in the Designer.
  4. Test it in Run mode with safe data before changing access or relying on the new behavior.

Use Properties for App-wide behavior and appearance. Use the workspace to change forms, layout, items, variables, and actions.

Remove an App safelyDirect link to Remove an App safely

Removing an App is permanent. Before deleting it:

  • confirm no users still need its published URL;
  • identify any jobs, mappings, target-system actions, or documentation that refer to it;
  • preserve any configuration or screenshots needed for audit and recovery; and
  • communicate a replacement App or retirement date to users.

To remove the App, find it in Configuration → Apps, select its delete icon, then confirm with Yes.

warning

Deleting an App removes its configuration. Test a retirement plan in a non-production environment when the App supports a critical workflow.
