Tools4ever does not have an ADP partner app. Follow the Manual Process Steps in ADP's Generate a Certificate Signing Request documentation when preparing certificate access.
NIM requires Hostname, Client ID, Client Secret, and Certificate.

- Open the linked ADP documentation and follow its Manual Process Steps to generate and submit the certificate signing request.
- Complete ADP's certificate issuance process. Retain the corresponding private key securely so the issued certificate can be used for client authentication in NIM.
- Obtain the Client ID, Client Secret, and API Hostname for your authorized ADP integration and intended environment.
- Confirm that the integration can retrieve worker demographics and the other workforce data required by your downstream process.

- Make the authentication certificate and its private key available to NIM through Settings > Certificates.
- In NIM Studio, open Systems > Overview and add an ADP Workforce Now system, or select the existing system.
- Open Connection, enter the following settings, and save.
| NIM setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Hostname | The ADP API host for your environment, using the format expected by the Connection screen. |
| Client ID | The identifier for the authorized ADP integration. |
| Client Secret | The secret associated with that client. |
| Certificate | The client authentication certificate prepared using ADP's manual process, with its corresponding private key available to NIM. |
Test worker-demographics accessDirect link to Test worker-demographics access
-
Select Test Connection. NIM attempts to retrieve workers using:
GET /hr/v2/worker-demographics?top=1&skip=0 -
If the test fails, verify the Hostname, client credentials, certificate validity and private-key availability, network access, and worker API permissions.
-
Collect the workforce data required by your process and confirm that the expected worker records are present.
-
Validate identity matching and field mappings before using the data for downstream user provisioning.
The connection test checks worker-demographics retrieval. Validate other collections required by your process separately.
