Arrange API access with Anthology Support, configure the application and certificate in NIM, and test access to employee data.

Public API setup documentation is not available. Contact Anthology Support for assistance with your environment. The application typically uses a Microsoft Entra application registration, through which API access can be arranged.
NIM requires Application ID, Tenant ID, and Certificate.
Prepare the application and certificateDirect link to Prepare the application and certificate
- Ask Anthology Support to identify the Entra application registration and API access configuration for your Finance HCM environment.
- Obtain the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID for the application NIM will use.
- Arrange certificate authentication for that application. Have your administrator configure the public certificate on the application and securely provide the corresponding certificate with its private key for NIM.
- Confirm that the application has access to the employee and worker data required by your process. Worker contact management also needs permissions for each intended write operation.

- In NIM Studio, open Systems > Overview and add an Anthology Finance HCM system, or select the existing system.
- Make the authentication certificate available through Settings > Certificates.
- Open the system's Connection screen, enter the following settings, and save.
| NIM setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Application ID | The Application (client) ID of the Entra application authorized for the integration. |
| Tenant ID | The Directory (tenant) ID associated with the application. |
| Certificate | The certificate configured for application authentication, with its corresponding private key available to NIM. |
Test employee accessDirect link to Test employee access
-
Select Test Connection. NIM attempts to retrieve a single employee using:
GET /data/EmployeesV2?$top=1 -
If the test fails, verify the Application ID, Tenant ID, certificate validity, and application access with your administrator or Anthology Support.
-
Collect the employee and worker collections needed by your process. Validate record matching before using the data for downstream user lifecycle automation.
-
Test intended worker contact changes with safe records before enabling automated writes.
The connection test checks employee retrieval. Validate collection access and worker contact write permissions separately.
