Configure the API key and verify that NIM can read employee data.

Contact the LACOE Office for more information about creating an API key and obtaining access to the employee data your organization needs. See the public LACOE Data Exchange API documentation for API details.

  1. Go to Configuration > Settings > Connectors, select Add, and add the LACOE Data Exchange connector. See Add or update a connector for details.
  2. Add a LACOE Data Exchange REST system in NIM.
  3. Enter the API key supplied by LACOE in the API Key field. The Username field is not used by this connector.
  4. Save the connection and run its connection test. The connector tests access by reading the EmployeeDemographics endpoint.

The supplied connector points to the LACOE Data Exchange UAT host. Confirm the correct environment and endpoint with the LACOE Office before using it for production data.

Validate accessDirect link to Validate access

Read EmployeeDemographics, EmployeeActivePositions, or EmployeePrimeJobAttributes in NIM and confirm that the returned records match the access granted to your API key. The connector only defines read operations for these tables.
