Configure Connection
Salesforce guide
Prepare a Salesforce integration service account and OAuth credentials, configure NIM, and test account contact access.

Arrange a dedicated service account with your Salesforce administrator and configure OAuth access for the integration. See the Salesforce REST API authentication guide. The vendor's quick start demonstrates authentication with Salesforce CLI; the NIM connection uses the application credentials described below.
NIM requires Tenant URL, Client ID, Client Secret, and Contacts Filter. A default Contacts Filter is provided in the connector.

- Create a dedicated Salesforce service account with API access and permission to read the account contact data your process needs.
- Have your Salesforce administrator configure an OAuth application for NIM and authorize the integration to access the intended data.
- Obtain the application's Client ID and Client Secret, and the Tenant URL for the Salesforce environment NIM will access.

- In NIM Studio, open Systems > Overview and add a Salesforce system, or select the existing system.
- Open its Connection screen.
- Enter the following settings and save the connection.
| NIM setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Tenant URL | The URL of the Salesforce environment NIM will access. |
| Client ID | The client identifier of the OAuth application configured for NIM. |
| Client Secret | The secret belonging to that OAuth application. |
| Contacts Filter | The filter used to select contacts. Start with the default provided by the connector and change it only when your process requires a different selection. |

-
Select Test Connection. NIM calls the query endpoint on the configured tenant to retrieve a list of account contacts:
GET /services/data/v52.0/query -
Confirm that the test succeeds. If it fails, verify the Tenant URL, Client ID, Client Secret, OAuth authorization, and service account permissions.
-
Collect the system and inspect the Contacts data. Confirm that the Contacts Filter selects the records needed for your process.
-
Validate matching rules and the intended operations in each destination system before using Salesforce data to provision customer service or ticketing systems.
The connection test checks Salesforce query access. Validate downstream provisioning operations separately in each destination system.
