Create, edit, or remove a lookup

Create a lookup
  1. Create a filter or Edit a filter.

  2. Set up the filter.

    For this example, we'll use the organizational_unit column from the Departments table of the HR500 test dataset as our filter column. We will be checking it against the sAMAccountName column of the Groups table of our Active Directory system.

  3. Create a JavaScript filter column that performs the necessary transformation.

    For this example, we'll append DEPGRP_ as a prefix to match the naming scheme of our AD groups, using the following JavaScript: return 'DEPGRP_'+departments['organizational_unit'].

  4. Go to the Lookup tab.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Enter a Lookup Name. For example, ad_group_include.

  7. Select the Filter Column, which is the custom column you created in step (3).

  8. Select the System in which the lookup will be performed.

  9. Select the relevant Table of the system.

  10. Select the relevant Field of the table.

  11. For the Operation, select include.

  12. Click Save.

  13. Repeat steps (5) - (12) to create a duplicate lookup, but with an exclude Operation.

    The lookup is now available in group-related Mappings. You can use the exclude lookup in conjunction with a group create mapping function to create the target groups prior to assigning them members in a role generator. For example:

  14. Go to the Data tab.

  15. Two new Filter lookup buttons are now available:

  16. Click the Exclude lookup button to find the groups that are missing from the target system.

  17. Click the Include lookup button to find the groups that are present in the target system.

  1. Go to Processing > Filters.

  2. Click edit-filter.png Edit Filter for the relevant filter.

  3. Go to the Lookup tab.

  4. Continue by following the steps in Create a lookup.

  1. Go to Processing > Filters.

  3. Go to the Lookup tab.

  4. Click remove-mapping.png Remove Lookup for the relevant lookup.
