Schedule backups
Backup guide
Create recurring repository or snapshot backups with the NIM Scheduler.
Scheduled backups are stored locally in NIM's default backup location. Choose the backup type and frequency that fit your environment.
Create a backup task
- Open Scheduler > Overview.
- Click Add.
- Select Backup as the task type and enter a descriptive name.
Choose what to back up
On the Configuration tab, select a backup type:
| Type | Contents and behavior |
|---|---|
| Repository | Configuration resources that can be viewed, compared, and partially restored from NIM Studio. |
| Snapshot | A full backup of configuration and databases. Creating a snapshot enables maintenance mode and temporarily logs out non-admin users. |
Choose a suitable maintenance window when scheduling snapshots.
Set the frequency
- Open the Schedule tab.
- Enable Scheduling enabled.
- Configure when the backup should run.
- Save the task.
After a scheduled run, review the task's History to confirm the result. See Review task results.
