Combine collection and job execution into a controlled, repeatable identity workflow.
Create a NIM sync task to collect required systems, optionally preview proposed changes, and run validated jobs in a controlled order. Test the task with safe records before assigning its recurring schedule.

Sync tasks progress through Collect, Evaluate, and Execute. Normally, enable at least Collect and Execute.

In Scheduler > Overview, select Add, choose sync, name and save the task. In Collect, select Add for each system that must be refreshed. Enable Stop on Error when a collection failure must prevent later stages.

In Evaluate, select a notification template in Send Evaluation Report Using Template to report proposed changes before execution.
Run jobs in orderDirect link to Run jobs in order
In Execute, select Add and choose each job. Jobs run from top to bottom. Use Stop on Error when a failed job must stop the remaining jobs.
The screenshot shows the complete Configuration tab. Each stage has a toggle to include or skip it in the sync task:

| Collect | Add a System | Add each source or target system that must be collected before jobs run. |
| Collect | Maximum age (minutes) | Reuse a recent collection when it is still within this age. Enter 0 to collect the system on every run. |
| Collect | Stop on error | Stop the task if collection of that system fails, instead of continuing to later stages. |
| Evaluate | Evaluate job(s) and wait for | Preview the proposed job changes and set the number of minutes to wait before Execute begins. |
| Evaluate | Send evaluation report using template | Choose the notification template used to send the evaluation report. |
| Execute | Add a Job | Add the jobs to run. Arrange them in the intended order; NIM runs them from top to bottom. |
| Execute | Stop on error | Stop later jobs if this job fails. |
Use the delete icon in Actions to remove a system or job row from this task. Resize changes the height of the Collect or Execute list so you can review more rows. Select Save after changing the configuration; Schedule controls recurring runs, and History shows previous results.
