Dataset statistics
Collection diagnostics
Generate a dataset statistics report when you need a detailed view of the data NIM imported for a system.
Dataset statistics report on validation metrics for a system’s imported data. Use the report after collection when you need more detail than the normal collection result provides—for example, while validating a new data model or investigating unexpected records.
What the report helps you reviewDirect link to What the report helps you review
| Metric | What it can help confirm |
|---|---|
| Total rows | Whether NIM loaded the expected approximate volume of records. |
| Data validity and errors | Whether collection produced records or values that require investigation. |
| Load duration | Whether a collection took longer than expected. |
| Relational data metrics | Whether the collected model is producing the expected relationship data. |
Use it as a validation toolDataset statistics are most useful after changing tables, columns, keys, or relations. Compare the report with a known-good collection when investigating a change.

- Open Systems > Overview.
- Hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift.
- While holding the keys, select Edit for the system you want to inspect.
- Wait for NIM to generate the report.
tip
Run a normal collection first so the report reflects the current system configuration and data.
If the report shows unexpected resultsDirect link to If the report shows unexpected results
- Confirm the correct tables and columns are selected for collection.
- Review data types and primary or reference keys for the affected tables.
- Validate intra-system relations when relation metrics are unexpected.
- Recollect the system after making a correction, then generate a new report to compare the result.
