Generate initial AD passwords

Create secure initial passwords for new accounts.

Create the password generator that the account-create mapping will use for every new AD user.

Add the password generator

1. Go to Processing > Password Generation.

2. Click Add.

3. Name the generator pg_AD. The pg_ prefix makes password generators easy to recognize throughout NIM.

4. Click Create.

Configure the password generator

1. Click the [random] cell in Part 1 to review its default rules.

2. Set both Minimum Length and Maximum Length to 15, then enable Exclude Similar Characters. Use the live example value to validate the result.

3. Leave Use Filter disabled for this tutorial so each initial password is fully random. Enable it only when your password format needs values from a filter.

4. Click Save.
