App Showcase
NIM provides a robust and flexible app development environment. With an intuitive drag-and-drop editor, extensive object properties, support for variables and scripting, and integrated target system actions, there are very few limits to what can be done with NIM apps.
The pages underneath this section showcase some of the apps that Tools4ever provides to their customers. Each showcase outlines the target audience, scope of affected users, required systems, an example use case, and screenshots of the application itself. These apps are generalized, and are suitable for most customer environments right out of the box (though some customization may be waranted).
Custom app implementations are possible through professional services engagements, or through a customer's own development efforts. Some ideas and examples of custom apps include:
Badge / Physical Access Sync Trigger
Allow HR or security teams to trigger a sync or refresh of physical access data (e.g., badge activation) for a user without giving them access to identity systems.
Classroom / Student Roster Management
Allow instructors to activate, deactivate, or move students between class groups or cohorts without touching broader directory settings.
Delegated Access Reviews (Attestation)
Allow department managers to review and certify access for their team members without IT running the entire process manually.
Delegated MFA Reset / Recovery Assistance
Empower Help Desk or designated staff to reset MFA methods for users who are locked out, without granting broader identity privileges.
Departmental Group Management
Enable department admins to add or remove users from specific departmental groups (e.g., "Marketing SharePoint Access") while preventing changes to global or security‑sensitive groups.
Email Alias or Display Name Adjustments
Permit department admins or HR to request or apply approved alias/display name changes without IT needing to intervene.
License Assignment for Specific Apps
Allow business unit owners to assign or remove licenses for their applications (e.g., a training platform, CRM tool) without touching global licensing pools.
Local Onboarding for Branch Offices
Give branch managers the ability to pre‑stage new local users (e.g., seasonal staff) with limited profile data so IT can complete provisioning more efficiently.
Profile Attribute Updates (Scoped)
Let HR or department coordinators update non‑authoritative attributes such as office location, phone number, or department code when those fields aren’t sourced from HRIS.
Reactivation of Seasonal or Recurring Workers
Allow managers to reactivate previously offboarded seasonal staff (e.g., summer workers, volunteers) within controlled boundaries.
Temporary access extension
Permit managers or project leads to extend a user’s temporary access (e.g., contractors, interns, project roles) within defined limits, without involving IT.
