Protect NIM configuration before change, then restore only what you need when recovery is required.

A repository is a backup of NIM objects and configuration, including systems, roles, relations, filters, apps, and jobs. It does not replace a full installation snapshot.

Go to Configuration > Settings > Repositories, select Add, and wait for the new repository to appear.
Download the JSON backupDirect link to Download the JSON backup
Select the repository’s download icon and store the JSON file in an access-controlled location outside the NIM server.

Use Restore for a full configuration replacement. Use Edit to select only the objects to recover. New objects are added, Changed objects overwrite the current version, and Equal objects need no restoration.

For a partial restore, select Add dependent resources so related objects are included, then select Restore and confirm.

NIM enters maintenance mode during restoration. After it completes, validate the affected configuration and run a controlled test.
Maintain repositoriesDirect link to Maintain repositories
Use Edit > Cleanup to remove objects before sharing a repository. Use the delete icon only after confirming the repository is no longer needed for recovery or distribution.
A full restore overwrites the current NIM configuration. Create a new repository or snapshot before restoring a production environment.
