Filter portability
Export individual filters for reuse or backup, then import them with either a unique name or an intentional overwrite.

- Go to Processing > Filters.
- Select Export Filter for the filter to back up.
- Save the downloaded
.jsonfile in a secure, identifiable location.
For a complete environment backup, use Repositories.

- Go to Processing > Filters and select Import.
- Select the exported
.jsonfilter backup file. - Choose how NIM handles names:
| Option | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Generate Unique Name(s) | You want a duplicate without changing the existing filter. |
| Overwrite Existing Filter(s) With The Same Name | You intentionally want the import to replace matching filters. |
Confirm the imported configurationDirect link to Confirm the imported configuration
- Select Import.
- Confirm the imported filter appears in the Filters pane.
- Open it, preview the result, and verify any referenced systems, tables, or columns are available in this environment.
caution
An overwrite replaces an existing filter with the same name. Export the current version first if you may need to restore it.
